These repairs that I have done pertain to my interest in understanding how mechanical and electronic components work. I had previously done volunteering and intern work at an organization called EqOpTech where I would refurbish old laptops in order to donate them to those who needed them in my community. During my time at this internship, I really enjoyed the process of diagnosing a problem with a given broken laptop and using my repair skills to fix it, learning a lot about how the device itself works along the way. I wanted to learn more about different devices, so I chose to repair and modify other broken devices since there is a large availability of replacement parts to buy online and certain devices aren't too expensive.
To me repairing something is great because it allows me to have full control over decision making, is great for learning, and gives me a sense of satisfaction when completed. While I mostly work on smaller devices, I have done repairs on all types of things as I love a challenge.
